Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price is planning to release a bill on Thursday that would roll back the Affordable Care Act, according to a source familiar with his thinking.
Price, who has said he wants to sign the repeal into law, is planning on releasing the legislation after he delivers his annual state of the union address, according the source.
He’s scheduled to give his speech Thursday afternoon in Springfield, Massachusetts.
The measure is expected to face stiff opposition from Democrats and Republicans.
Price and his aides have previously said they will support the ACA repeal and replace, but are still considering what to do after the bill is passed.
